HUDDERSFIELD HEROES TO RAISE MONEY FOR COMIC RELIEF

A Huddersfield business is hoping to raise over £1,000 for Comic Relief by washing cars in fancy dress.

Staff at Huddersfield Volkswagen will dress as their favourite hero or villain on Friday 18th March, to provide the car wash service, generating funds for Comic Relief.

The retailer is promising to double any total raised over £500, as it prepares for the likes of Superman and Wonder Woman for a day of washing.

Event organiser, Claire Webster, said: “It’s important we all help raise money for such a good cause, and raise a smile at the same time.

“All staff will be involved, with the car cleaning operation staffed by Huddersfield Volkswagen’s senior management.

“The cost of hiring the costumes was discounted by Fantasy World in Ossett, meaning more money will be raised for Comic Relief.

“I hope many people can spare the time to come along and not only join in the fun, but get their car washed at the same time!”

The car wash costs £5 with all the money raised going to Comic Relief. It will be in operation from 9.30am to 5.30pm.
