A Cambridge van centre has seen a boost in business following its latest senior management appointment.
Rob Mackridge, from Cambridge, has transformed Vindis Van Centre’s commercial vehicle rental division into a thriving business, in just three months.
The new rental manager is the driving force behind the van centre’s latest business success, securing a number of short and long term contracts.
The 37-year-old joined Vindis with over 16 years of vehicle rental experience that incorporated both passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Having begun his career as a driver, Rob swiftly progressed to branch manager and regional business manager roles for national rental companies and, more latterly, specialising in regional positions for specific manufacturers.
Based in St Ives the Vindis van rental business covers the entire Vindis Volkswagen Group which covers all of Cambridgeshire, Bedford, Fakenham and Bishops Stortford.
Speaking of the new role, Rob, said: “This is a very exciting time for Vindis. Our fleet incorporates the entire Volkswagen commercial vehicle range including the recently launched Transporter through to Kombi and Luton derivatives enabling us to cater for all businesses and customers’ needs.
“We have already secured a number of high profile short term contracts with Flexi-Able and Kershaws UK plus a long term hire of three Caddy’s with Elite Gas.”
Shane Fenwick, brand manager at Vindis Van Centre, said: “We are very happy with the early success of the rental service.
“We are continually looking at ways in which to expand the business and Rob’s wealth of expertise and knowledge in this sector is ideal to help strengthen the Vindis brand in all our sites and offer our customers an even more comprehensive service.”
