Double honours for Higgs duo

Two solicitors in Higgs & Sons' private client team are celebrating after passing examinations to become full members of a global legal organisation.

Jo Dutton and Sharon Rowley have both passed their final examinations to become members of STEP, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. STEP is the professional body for people working in the trust and estate field across the world, providing members with a local, national and international learning and business network.

Peter Gosling heads up Higgs' highly respected private client department which is one of the largest in the Midlands and boasts 20 lawyers. "This is excellent news for Jo and Sharon, our department and our clients. Jo gained distinctions in all four papers and she is one of only a small number of people to achieve this in the UK."

The private client team at Higgs acts for many families and trusts across the Midlands and beyond. 18 members of the team have just moved to Higgs' new £1.5 million office facility at 3 Waterfront Business Park. In addition, the firm's older persons' group and residential property team remain based at the Kingswinford office.

Higgs & Sons has been shortlisted for Law Firm of the year 16+ partners in the Birmingham Law Society Awards.
