THIRD KENT GOLF DAY RAISING FUNDS FOR

Maidstone’s Volkswagen retailer is once again backing the Kent Golf Day in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer research UK.

Beadles is providing a car for the event on 23rd June, for the person who can score a hole-in-one on the 17th hole.

Staged at the Redlibbets Golf Club in Ash the event, sponsored by Beadles Volkswagen, will see over 120 people tee off hoping to raise vital funds in memory of the ex-England captain.

Beadles brand manager Keith Dowle is looking forward to the event.

He said: “It is a testament to the people of Kent that so many golfers want to take part and raise money for such a good cause.

“We are extremely happy to support the event, looking forward to seeing everyone on the day and people shooting for the car.”

Further hole-in-one prizes are a golfing break in the Le Meridien Resort, Spain, a two day golf break for four at the Belfrey and a set of Callaway Diablo Edge Irons. They’re available at the 6th 8th and 13th holes.

The Bobby Moore Fund was set up by the late England hero’s widow Stephanie Moore MBE in conjunction with Cancer Research UK. It was established in 1993 to raise money for research into bowel cancer after Sir Bobby died of the disease earlier that year aged just 51.

The proceeds of the golf day will go towards funding pioneering work into the prevention and treatment of bowel cancer as well as raising public awareness of the causes and symptoms.

Mrs Moore said: “Bobby was never happier than when he was playing on a fine course in good company. A massive thank you to Beadles and everyone for supporting the Bobby Moore Fund and making our work possible.”
