A fast fit retailer in Taunton has stolen a march on his rivals by extending his business and acquiring one of the most highly thought of technicians in the area.
Gary Thomson, owner of HiQ on Priory Bridge Road, has acquired the services of technician Dan Wormer, from the adjacent SAAB dealership, which he will now merge with.
The move will allow HiQ to offer motorists a dedicated service in MOT and repair in addition to the successful tyre focused operation currently in place.
The new centre, which will continue to offer SAAB motorists a specialist service, will operate alongside HiQ Taunton’s existing site.
Well known in the area for his knowledge and expertise in the fast fit industry, franchisee and owner Mr Thomson said he was thrilled to be working with such an experienced technician who is so highly regarded in the specialist sector.
He said: “To have Dan come on board with us at HiQ Taunton is a big move forward for the business. As well as continuing to offer motorists complete vehicle maintenance and repair, the new site will deal exclusively in MOT’s.
“Having the two sites in operation will undoubtedly give us more available time, space and equipment. I am excited about this business growth and I hope motorists will think of us when in the Taunton area.”
Dan Wormer started working in the automotive industry in 1972 spending over 35 years working for various SAAB dealerships.
He said: “After working solely with SAAB for so many years, it is great to merge with a franchise that has a great reputation and has grown so rapidly.”
The new site is offering motorists a budget proof MOT at just £29.95 for a 3 month period.
