LISTERS TAKES POLE POSITION WITH MOTORING FANS

Listers Volkswagen dealerships, are inviting motorsport fans to join in its celebrations to mark the launch of its partnership with ABT Sportsline, UK suppliers of ABT performance products and sponsors of the winning DTM motor racing team.

The high octane activity at Listers Volkswagen will roar into action at its Stratford-upon-Avon site on Western Road on Saturday 14th November.

ABT Sportsline GmbH is renowned as the reigning champions of the DTM racing, Europe‘s most popular touring car race series. Fresh from their 2009 victory, the DTM racing team technicians will bring a selection of DTM race performance cars.

Throughout the day fans will be able to get a ‘behind the scene tour’ of the 2009 ABT DTM race truck and rally cars, navigate an ABT Scirocco around an obstacle course in the fastest time and get technical advice from the ABT race team in the ‘car clinic’.

An exclusive talk by former team principal of ABT, Thomas Biermaier, will keep fans entertained in addition to the display of ABT performance products.

Motoring enthusiasts will have the chance of winning a VIP trip to the ABT factory in Bavaria and a two day VIP package for two at a 2010 DTM racing event.

Through its partnership with ABT Sportsline, Listers will supply ABT performance products on all models including; sport wheels, aerodynamic body kits, suspension and exhaust technology and interior enhancements, all without effecting the manufacturer’s warranty.

LISTERS SHOWCASES A REALLY WILD ANIMAL SHOW FOR FAMILIES

Families from across Worcester are invited to a Really Wild Show taking place this weekend (Saturday 8th August) at Listers Volkswagen in association with West Midlands Safari Park.

The Safari lady will present a variety of exotic creatures from around the world at the free of charge family fun day held at the Bromyard Road dealership in Worcester.

Children will have the opportunity to get up close with unusual animals such as
corn snakes, giant African land snails, Madagascan hissing cockroaches, giant African millipedes and Caribbean hermit crabs.

The family event will also include a treasure hunt around the Volkswagen showroom, a bouncy castle and test drives for the big kids. Refreshments will be provided with a free hog roast.

Richard Newbold, brand manager at Listers Volkswagen, said: “We are delighted to be offering this free event to families in the area and very pleased to welcome the West Midlands Safari team.

“Hands on experience is often the most memorable and with the supervision of the Safari lady children or adults will have the opportunity hold the animals and have their photos taken with them. The Safari experts will be available throughout the day to answer any questions people may have.”

In addition to the family fun activities Listers Volkswagen will be offering free vehicle safety checks followed by a wash and a vacuum for any make of car on the day. To take advantage of this service visitors are asked to book in advance by calling 01905 424242.

SCOUTS FUNDRAISING CAR WASH


A group of scouts are planning for a wet weekend on 4th July when they will be washing cars to raise money for their Scouts’ fund. Local retailer, Listers Volkswagen in Stratford, has offered to host the event.

The soap studded fundraising day will see Wilmcote Scout Group set up a car washing service for drivers on the forecourt of Listers Volkswagen on Western Road.

All proceeds of the day will go towards the Scout’s fund which enables the group to attend various outings and adventures throughout the year.

Scout leader, John Bates is inviting motorists to take advantage of the one day only car washing extravaganza which will run from 10am to 3.30pm. He said: “We will be armed and ready with sponges and buckets and look forward to tackling Stratford’s dirty cars.

“We are asking for a just small donation in return for our shampooing and polishing efforts and hope many drivers will take advantage.

“We would like to thank Listers Volkswagen for all their support and I am sure we’ll be able to wash a few of their cars too,” concluded John.

The Wilmcote Scout Group hosts various fundraising events throughout the year and its firework night held at the scout hut is always a popular and well attended event.

Listers Volkswagen brand manager, Joe Tompkins, which has loaned its forecourt, hoses and provided water for the day, said: “We are more than happy to support the Wilmcote Scout Group and are looking forward to an action packed day.”
